Abdominal Binding

I was just wondering if anyone had tried abdominal binding after a C-section.  I know that this is very popular in other countries but have not heard about it in the States.  Does anyone have any experience with this?  If so, where can you get the binders?  Did you notice any differences?  Is there any reason this would be contraindicated?  Please help.

i was given a binder in the hospital after my c/s, so i'd say it's not contraindiated. but it was too hard to get on and too uncomfortable so i didn't wear it very long.

We offer it to all of our c/s moms (I work as an RN on a post-partum unit). Really a lot of women swear by them. Pea-kay I wonder what kind you had and it might not have fitted properly? The ones we use are like big girdles with velcro, so you can adjust the tightness.

oh, it was like that, but i just don't think it was big ENOUGH.  and i was in so much pain, and when we tried to get it on, i could hardly even stand, so i never really tried again.

I swear by it.  I binded my stomach for aproximately 3 months.  I used the one the hospital provided for the first month and then when it became too big I used an ace bandage along with Spanx.
