Difficulty finding a maternity style that looks okay!

Hi,

I am 30 weeks pregnant and having a heck of a time finding maternity shirts that look okay on me.  I am literally all boobs and belly, and havent gained too much in my lower body.  Every time I try on a shirt it looks horrible.  Does anyone have idea of what styles look okay on a body type that is really just one big ball in front and big boobs?  Ive tried lots of stores but wish I could find some fashion advice because everything just looks bad.  Not looking to look amazing, just not so much like a meatball : )!  Anyone have advice?  Thank you!!

  • I've found that Kimora Simmon's stuff (baby phat) fits really well since its ruched at the sides and hugs your belly without making it look stupid.  I got a lot of it at Burlington Coat Factory for like $3 a shirt!!!!

  • I am all boobs and belly, pre-pg size 1 with a big basketball belly right now!  It's my personal preference to wear fitted/stretchy tops that have a little spandex content and hug the body.  Flowy tops or shirts that are too big just hang off my body and make it look so much bigger than it is.  I always liked GAP stretch maternity tees.  That being said I am not trying not to spend too much money on maternity this pregnancy and I feel like it shows in my wardrobe, which is a little depressing.  HTH...
  • I have been wearing mostly dresses because this is my exact same problem!  I just wear a bigger size of regular dresses not maternity.  Good luck!
  • I would recommend tops that tie in the back... they separate the boobs from the belly and cinch things up a bit so everything isn't just hanging on you. just my opinion
  • As a PP mentioned I like the strechy type tops with ruching on the sides the best. I was not a sz 1 pre pg but I have really only gained in the belly and boobs too so I know what you mean.
  • Thanks!  I will take a look! : )
  • Hmmm...I will try that.  Gap does have some cute stuff and not too pricey.
  • Good idea!  I havent tried dresses at all but maybe this will work.  Thanks!
