Cerclage and Cramping Question

Has anyone that has had a cerclage have tons of cramping? This is my 2nd pregnancy and my 2nd cerclage. With the first pregnancy, I had absolutely no symptoms, but with this one, I have m/s, tiredness and most of all tons of cramping. Last night I was up for 3 hours in serious pain due to cramping. I'm scared to death that I'm going to have a miscarriage (or already have) with a cerclage in place. How would that even work?

I guess I'll really find out at my next appt. (this week). Just wanted to know if anyone else has had a similiar experience.

    Mine is scheduled for next week, but my dr said that there would be cramping, but it should get better over time, not worse. I think you should call your Dr's on-call number. GL!

    I have had two cerclages and had cramping with both. With my first, it was accompanied by contractions but I had it pretty late in the game. But also, my doctor's told me that the body needs time to get adjusted to the cerclage as it is a foreign object in the body and cramping may be the body's way of trying to get rid of it, but don't worry, it won't!.

     this time around, I had cramping for a couple of weeks after, which my doctors again told me was normal and prescribed me percuset for!

    Thank you. I will talk to my doctor this week about maybe prescribing something for it. I don't even know if it's "cerclage" related, but I'm guessing it may be. I had a cerclage with my 1st, but never had cramping (that I can remember). With this cerclage, I got a spinal headache/backache from the spinal they gave me, so recovery was very slow (I'm sure that didn't help either). :-)
