Preemies

Marine fights to see preemie daughter

I couldn't copy the link to it, but there is a video on msnbc.com today of a family finally together after the military eventually realized it should have give the Dad leave to be with his wife and rpeemie daughter.

She was born 10 weeks early and they denied him leave.  It took a doctor telling them that the baby's prognosis was uncertain before they would left him go home. UGH!  I can't imagine having to go through a preemie birth and the early days of uncertainty and NICU rollercoaster with my husband out of the country.

Her name is Madison Rose and my DD's name is Madeline Rose.

Re: Marine fights to see preemie daughter

  • I saw that on the news the other night.  The Marines policy is someone could come home after a death but not for a birth.  It sucks!  If I remember, they let him come home for 10 days to see the baby but has to go back soon.
  • I'm so glad they let him come home!! My husband wasn't at the birth of our daughter and it's one thing that neither of us will ever get over :(
