Can DS have chicken marsala?

OK, forgive me if this is a stupid question. DS loves mushrooms! We're going to my parents house for dinner tonight and they are cooking chicken marsala. Since most, if not all, of the alcohol cooks off, is it OK for DS to eat this? Again, this is probably a stupid question. Sorry, first time mom here.

Re: Can DS have chicken marsala?

  • I'd do it - like you said, the alcohol cooks off right?  Do they use real wine or cooking wine?  I usually just use the cooking stuff anyway....

I'd let my kid eat it. :)

  • DS had it for his birthday dinner and he's fine, lol.

  • I'd give it. The wine cooks off and you use such a small amount anyway, and then he would eat such a small portion - you're fine.
  • I've given Liliana foods with wine in it before. I use such a small amount and it burns off quickly while cooking that I don't worry about it :)
  • I asked a similar question about letting DD have fondue with kirsh in it. Most people said they wouldn't do it because of the alcohol. Someone linked a table with the percentages of alcohol that cooks off after certain intervals. It was a lot less than I thought.
