Gift for a 3 year old BOY?

I have no clue about boys!

We are going to a daycare party this weekend. I am thinking maybe a puzzle? Gina says he likes trucks, which is an improvement over the dress she wanted to buy him last week. She felt sad that he 'never wear a dress' LOL

Any suggestions in the $25 range? Thanks

  • Definitely a truck.  One that makes noise, has a ladder maybe, moves something.

  • Mine LOVES Fisher Price Imaginext toys-- they have dinosaurs, pirates, super heroes, fire fighters-- they're all action figures and vehicles and stuff and they're definitely in that pice range

  • Love her.

William would totally wear a dress if given the opportunity.

Puzzles are great, Will loves those.  Cars, trains, dinosaurs, or anything that makes noise would also be great.

  • Mine's not 3 yet, but I'm guessing they all still love things with wheels at that age! ?Maybe one of those simple RC cars? ?I know Target has Cars toys that are rc (2 buttons, maybe three). ?That might be fun, and different from play cars he probably already has!
  • Ditto the FP Imaginext toys.  I love those.

  • I agree with the Imaginext toys.  DS also loves puzzles.  Melissa and Doug makes a train one that makes sounds when you put it together.  DS absolutely loves it.  Anything with trains and trucks would be great.  Tools (including Handy Manny toys) are always a hit too.

  • Ditto all the prior posters.

Also, not sure if they all carry the same stuff, but for the last couple months my Costco has had Caterpillar brand toy diggers, forklifts, etc that make noise and move forward and have moving parts (i.e. the forklifts actually lifts stuff and the digger actually scoops up).  They come with a child-sized hard hat and a small construction man figurine and some little accessories.  The whole package is only $19.99.  We got this for my DS for his 3rd birthday just a few weeks ago and he LOVES it!  It is a STEAL at that price!

I think the Leap Frog Scribble and Write would also be fantastic.

My pleasure.  I was just on the TRU site earlier picking out a Imaginext toy for my mom to get Sam for his birthday, so I am on it today!

  • Puzzles are great, games as well.  Or art supplies, legos, and cars.

  • I just bought Law a three-wheeled scooter.  It's a Harley Davidson one that makes lots of fun noises.  It's on sale at TRU through tomorrow for $23 (regularly $40).  I think that would be a great gift.

Law also loves trains (esp. GeoTrax), trucks and tools.  His favorite toy right now is a Caterpillar excavator that came with an electric drill to take it apart and put it back together.
