am I the only one with a 3.5 year old who completely ignores me

we just had quite the scene here. My DD ignored us when we told her to go potty and put her pull-up on for bed. She was whiny (no nap) and  would not go. This went on for about 15 minutes. Finally I went and brought her to the bathroom where she proceeded to be defiant. In the end I brought her to bed where she just cried it out. My heart is breaking after this whole episode but I don't know what to do to make her listen. She just completely disregards EVERY thing we say. it's awful. I feel like i repeat myself 5,000 times a day.

Sigh.
