The Horizon carton says "Best if opened by sell-by date and used within 7 days".

Does this mean

A) once you open it, it has to be used within 7 days

-or-

use within 7 days past the expiration date, no matter when you open it

It means "A".

Use within 7 days of opening.  I really noticed this to be true with Promised Land milk - it just doesn't keep at all.
