grammar vent.

I know we've done this before, and it happens regularly on various boards, but I have to vent about grammar for a second. I'm not perfect, I realize. I overuse commas and parentheses.

But.

I like ice cream cone's! That is incorrect. Ice cream cone's what? Cone's hat? Cone's charming good looks?

I seen her the other day. Oh you did? I don't even know what that means.

My car needs washed. My car needs TO BE washed as well.

Oh, Lauren, you hit on my #1 grammar pet peeve....can we not just have simple plural words, please?

That's what's funny about it. There is an extra step to putting an apostrophe in there.

Exactly.  The asshats never learned proper grammar from their mamas, probably because said mamas wore ugly shoes and ate too many ice cream cones.

I spent most of the day yesterday with my bf's SIL and I love her, but the number of times she said, "I seen" made me want to smack her or myself.  It was awful.
