basal thermometer for fevers

how high do basal thermometers go?  I thought i had heard that they stop at a certain level.  I can't find out regular thermometer, but am concerned that I have a fever.  Thanks!  and sorry if this is a stupid question!

When I had that bug a few weeks ago, mine went up to 100.5 (at least).  I don't think my temp ran higher than that, because once I get past 101, I start shivering uncontrollably and hallucinate.

Do you feel cold?

i'm freezing!    and for me, my temp is a little high, and it stopped at 98.99...so it made me remember that i had heard something weird about them.  but i guess that isn't true!  thanks!

Since you're feeling that cold.....If I were you, I'd take some tylenol, try NOT to wear lots of clothes/blankets, and drink tons of cool clear fluids.  Also, who knows if my basal and your basal work the same way, you know?  Just to be safe, see if you can get your DH to run out and get you a cheapie regular one at the drug store.  Since it's flu season, you don't want to mess around with it, ya know?

ha!  my dad is smart...he just told me to dip it in hot water and see if it goes higher...it does   good!  so i don't need to worry right now   thanks!

I had the flu a couple of years ago and didn't know it until I went to take my temp and my bbt started going crazy (beeping very loudly) because it was measuring over 100.
