If you take or have taken Wellbutrin (or something similar)

I just started today and am nervous about taking anything at all.  I was wondering if you had any side effects of any kind?

I've had a rough 6 months or so and really would like some relief.  How long did it take before you noticed a difference (I know the doc told me a few weeks or so)?

How did you feel different?

Thanks

Re: If you take or have taken Wellbutrin (or something similar)

  • when I started Wellbutrin, I had a couple days of headaches and dizziness, but after that it was smooth sailing.  If I remember correctly (this was a long time ago), I was feeling much better within 3 weeks' time or so.

    (((((((((((((hugs))))))))))

  • Thanks Summer, when it starts working will it make me feel jittery (like too much coffee) or mellow (like everything is puppies and rainbows), something in the middle or am I completely off?

Can you tell I've never done this before...lol?

I'd pretty much like to feel anything other than the blah that I feel right now.

  • for me, it just leveled things off.  I didn't feel artificially happy or zombie-mellow.  I could just use the rational part of my brain again, and even out the rational/emotional balance out in my brain, if that makes sense.
  • I felt really sick on wellbutrin and quit before anything could have come out of it.
  • I never had one side effect on Wellbutrin. After a few weeks I felt a lot less anxious and jittery, but I never noticed a change in my moods, and I never felt zombie-like. It was seriously an easy drug to be on.
  • I had no side effects.

If it works correctly, it doesn't make you feel jittery or mellow.  It just makes you feel like a normal person.

  • I was nauseous but it was worth it.  I felt better in about 2 weeks if I remember correctly.  I also lost a ton of weight on it because I felt so sick.  I don't feel sick now but my body got used to less food.  Now I don't need to eat as much to feel full:)
