Overreatcting at late service man?

Ok I had an appointment this morning at 8 for our heater to get the annual service. 8:15 rolls around and nobody. I call at 8:20 and they said he would be there soon, finally shows up at 8:30. I was so irritated, I have to get to work and honestly if I wanted an 8:30 appt I would have made it at that time and on top of everything they did not call me to tell me they were going to be late I had to call them. I was very calm and told them this is the second time it has happened and I would be going with someone else. I just get sick of people wasting my time, geez I was the first appointment of the morning and they could not get their in a timely manner. This was the second time it has happened with this company. In this economy you would think companies would put their best foot forth.

I would have been upset if I had an exact appt. time. Around here we just get a time line for repair people.

I realize people will run late but just call and tell me..

No one around here gives an exact time.  I mean, really, how can they?  They don't know what kind of problems they will get into at the place before your's.  They just give a time frame...like 8-10.  Sometimes they just give AM or PM.  I hate those because then your whole morning or afternoon is shot...if they show up closer to the noon time or late in the afternoon.  Obviously if your appointment was the first of the day then they should have been there on time (or maybe 5 minutes late if they couldn't find your house right away).

Yeah they have been to our house before (same service guy), they are just always late. I was the first one of the morning. Needless to say I am going with another company.
