Question about my u/s tomorrow

As much as I want to find out the sex of the baby, making sure that he/she is healthy is my #1 priority.  We didn't have any testing done so I'm hoping to find out what we need to know from this u/s.

Question though.  In order for all the needed info to be obtained do I want LO to be moving a lot or not?  I know some people drink OJ to get LO going.  I'd love to hear your opinions!

This is what a friend JUST told me:  "Mountain Dew and chocolate candy bar one hour before ultrasound"

Most of the things are measurement based so movement isn't important.  For example, they want to visualize the 4 heart chambers which can be done either while asleep or awake.  If they really want to see him/her moving, they can encourage them to wake up.  Babies in utero go through sleep and wake cycles of 20ish minutes so your munchkin will probably be awake and asleep as these take awhile.  Mine was asleep and then awakened by the probe pushing on him.  So cute!

But hey - if a soda and candy bar appeals, by all means...   Have a great u/s!

Ha, a candy bar is ALWAYS appealing!   That will probably be apparent the next time I step on the scale at the doctor's office. lol

I tried the OJ theory and LO wasn't very cooperative.  She had her legs crossed through most of the u/s.  It wasn't until the tech started shaking my belly for a while did she uncross her leg for a brief moment to show us that she was a girl.

If they need baby to move, they'll have you lay on your side for a couple minutes and try again.

I have head that too much sugar can actually cause problems getting hte needed measurements - makes the kid squirm all over and they can't get a good look. 

I'd just drink water and save the candy bar for after. mmmmm Snickers.

Snickers is my FAVORITE!!   It really does satisfy.
