Pregnant after 35

I asked DH a loaded question

Yesterday he looked at me and said, "Can your belly get any bigger?"

I take it as a compliment that my boy is thriving. I said, "Thank you. I love my big belly!"

Today he was eye-balling it again. I said "Are you looking forward to me being skinnny again?"

***long pause***

"Umm, sure"    I can see the wheels turning, "How do I answer this question?"

Years ago I might have been offended but, damn, this is IT for me. I am treasuring every last minute of being pregnant!!

  • Men are funny sometimes. lol

I'm enjoying my belly too!  DH did say this morning, "Who is the hottest pregnant woman ever?"  I said Demi Moore? HAHAHA

Of course he said me, I told him he is blind and it probably helped that the room was dark.  Stick out tongue

  • Savor the moment.  I miss being pregnant, men think we have it easy where we can just snap back to our pre preg bodies, I wished it worked that way.

  • LOL!  I wasn't skinny to begin with, but I'm finding it so liberating to have this big belly that I get to celebrate and don't have to apologize for.  DH was rubbing it the other day and I asked if he loved the big belly.  He said, "um, yeah, I guess."  I said, "well I love it!"  He kind of rolls his eyes, "yes, I KNOW you do"  haha.

I like Shannon's DH's answer - you have him "trained" well!

  • I think men are taken completely off guard and confused by our love of our big baby bellies. I think they imagined they would have to endure many months of "I'm so fat!!! I hate this!!" - but they hear - "OOOH, Look at my big baby bump ::squeel of joy::" and "I can't wear that, you can't see my big baby belly!!!", usually echoed by our girlfriends and female family members.

I have to say, it is sooooo liberating to not be ashamed of "muffintop" or waist lines (or lack thereof).

  • I love my big belly, too.  I was telling DH that last night...it's so nice to not have to try to hide the poochie belly I have when I'm not pregnant.  I'm wearing clothes that show off my bump.  I'm proud of my bump.  It's the coolest feeling to have our little growing baby in there.  Weird, but cool! I have more confidence in my body now...I hope it doesn't go away after he's born! It would be nice to just be like, hey, this is my body...why try to camoflauge the bumps...this is me.
