Ok so my husband and I are trying to pick out names but are having a really hard time! We dont agree on anything! What do you think of these names?
For a girl we really like Ellyet Ava Banning. Or I like Evelyne, Davony, or Gracelyn.
For a boy we like Landon, Grayson, Ender, Mason, my husband likes Burton which I like the name Burton but I DONT like Burt! and I think I dont really like it with the last name Banning.....Please help!! open for suggestions!
Re: I need major help!
Sorry, I really don't like most of your girl names.
Davony- how to pronounce?
Gracelyn- too popular
Evelyne is nice but the spelling looks a little funny to me.
I LOVE your first name but hate the spelling- it looks like Ell Yet...what about Elliott/Elliot and then pair it with a feminine middle name. I don't think Ava flows well. What about Elliot Rose/ Elliot Grace/ Elliot Renee/ Elliot Cathleen/ Elliot Corrinne ?
Boys I like all of them but Grayson (again I think too popular) I actually LOVE Burton....I think it's adorable but then again I like different names. As for the nn thing I have a friend named Nicole and her mom hated the nn Nicki- I've never heard anyone call her that or if they did they were quickly corrected by Nicole herself...
Landon banning doesn't sound good to me though- too many ann's...
Burton James Banning? I like a lot....Burton Gray Banning, Burton Luke, Burton Elias, Burton John, Burton Ryan, Burton Scott
Good luck

Do NOT like Ellyet at all. It is supposed to be Elliott? If so, then spell it that way. Ell-Yet. Uh.... no.
I like Evelyne, but not that spelling. Don't like Davony or Gracelyn either.

How in the world do you pronounce "Ellyet"? If you're going for Elliott, that is definitely not my first thought. Davony sounds made up. Is Evelyne pronounced "Evelyn" or "Eveline"? Not sure what you're going for there. Evelyn is a beautiful name and Eveline is okay. I don't like Gracelyn at all.
Landon is okay, but way popular. Same with Grayson. Mason isn't bad. Ender and Burton are definitely NMS. I've never even heard of Ender.
Of your girl names, I really only like Evelyn. Gracelyn is okay. As for your boy names, I agree that Burton Banning does NOT flow well at all, but I do like Landon, Grayson, and Mason. Other possible suggestions...
Ashlyn, Brooklyn, Hazel, Alena, Alice, Eva, Madelyn, Charlotte, Lucy, Annalise, Lillian, Aurora
Hudson, Jude, Alton, Davis, Carson , Dillon, Owen, Ethan, Gavin, Ian, Ellison, Elliot, Josiah, Micah
ETA: Ender's Game is a great book, but naming your child Ender is like naming him a name that has only really be used in a sci-fi book seems a little cruel to me- he'd have to be the coolest kid at school to live it down.?
?
What is Ellyet & Davony?
Landon & Burton do not flow with Banning.
Agree with PP that Ellyet is not a good spelling if you are going for Elliott. Elliott can be pretty with the right mn, but I don't think Ava works. Which pronunciation are you going for with Evelyne: Ev-uh-lin or Ev-uh-leen? I like Ev-uh-lin, but think it should probably be spelled traditionally, Evelyn to avoid confusion. Davony & Gracelyn are nms.
Love Landon & Mason, Grayson & Ender are nms. Burton is really cute, but you KNOW someone will call him Burt! GL!
I agree with this.
Ellyet is bad. If you're going for Elliott, that's already original enough as a girl's name so you don't need to change the spelling.
My sentiments exactly.
Please, please - step away from the letter "y".
Suggestions*:
Bryony
Ivy
Lydia
Evelyn
Beryl
* - all inclusive of a "naturally-occuring" "y".
