Did your older DC ever hit the baby?  Ian recently started doing this.  Yes, almost 10 months after Max was born is when he starts this.  And its always him bonking him in the head with something - his hand, a ball, once even a spoon!  I put him in timeout every single time, but then continues to do it.  I am not sure what more to do about it - once Max is older he will certainly be able to give it right back, but for now?  The poor kid is always getting whacked.

Any experiences?

Ds does but only once in awhile.  We put him in time out.  I think it's just for attention at this point.

Yes, and I think this is the big age where it starts. After all, the baby is just now really starting to "threaten" his belongings. It has almost always been over a toy. I would try to teach Ian to give the baby another toy. Of course, the baby will still want what Ian has, but it may be enough time to warn you that it's about to happen.

I hate to tell you that it doesn't die down for quite some time. Ethan's finally over hitting, and now Bella does it! And then the baby learns to do it, too

Yes and the little one pulls the older ones hair.  They already wrestle and are pretty rough with each other.  I was surprised it happened so early.

yes, as soon as J started to get into Ethan's stuff...... still happens once inawhile.

Yes, a lot lately, he thumps DD on the face all the times. But she's trying to get back at him now by biting, and sometimes I just let her do it ( I know bad mommy), but he tortures her. He also yells in her face, right in her face, and DD does it right back, because she thinks it's a game.
