That's my FIL's name (it's a family name). He HATES it, said he was teased mercilessly etc, and he never goes by it. When my older BIL was born he was the first one in the family not to have Leander anywhere in his name. I personally love it because of the story or Hero and Leander. But FIL specifically asked that our little guy doesn't have it anywhere in his name as he's afraid that LO will get teased.
I actually really like it! I don't think I'd use it, only because it looks like a name that people might mispronounce and I tend to stay away from those, but I think it's unique, masculine, but not weird.
I don't think I'd be adventurous enough to use it myself, but it's not bad. I immediately think about the background myth (tragic love story) of Hero & Leander, too.

I kind of feel this way about it too. I'm more of a traditional name person so the NN Andy makes it better
