Question from a lurker...

Hello Ladies! 

First off, congrats to all of you on your successes!  I like lurking on this board because I find it comforting and hope to be a part of it someday.

I had a D&E on 9/25, I was 9w1d, baby measured 6w.  We found out the weak before that when I started spotting.  It was our first pregnancy, we were trying for 7 cycles.

My doc told me to wait until after 2nd AF to TTC.  Well, I was stupid this cycle.  We had unprotected sex a few days before I O'd (see chart in sig), and I had EWCM (which I only had 2/7 cycles last time TTC).  Now I know this does not mean that I am absolutely pg.  I know you can't tell me if I am pg, so I'm not gonna ask that.

What I would like to know, are there any of you who got pg after  D&E before your 1st AF?  What were your outcomes?

I did...and it was a CP. But my OB said it was absolutely not related to having just had the d&e and the reason they generally recommend waiting is more for emotional reasons and dating the pg.

I've HAD a D&E and D&C and 1st cycle AFTER ( or before 1st cycle) those procedures I think it would be hard to become pregnant because the lining of your uterus is barely there (if you even have one yet) and may be unable to support a pregnancy. So if an egg was fertilized, it may not even implant.

I'm so sorry for your loss but I hope you're able to join us very soon! I didn't get pg immediately after either of my losses, but have seen many successes on these boards from women getting pg before their first AF. Best wishes to you!

Thats what I am worried about.  My doc got all pissy when I asked for the scientific reasons for waiting, she said there is a "very slightly increased chance of another m/c", but she wouldn't tell me why. 

I am freaking out at every phantom symptom that I had when I was pg last time.  My sense of smell is out of control and I am bloated (though not as much as last time).

I know there are a lot of girls on here who got PG before first AF and have had great outcomes. Take comfort in the fact that if your body isn't ready for a pregnancy, it won't accept it. I agree with PP about it being more for emotional and dating purposes.

FWIW, any doctor that gets pissy when you ask for an explanation isn't much of a doctor... that's what they're supposed to be there for. I'm sorry she made you feel like that!

My best friend got pregnant after a D&C but before her first period about 9 months ago.  She delivered a beautiful baby girl yesterday!

 I know it's just anecdotal, but his makes me want to go spend some QT with my husband right now....
