WWYD? Halloween

My hubands co-worker said that we could come over on Halloween and pass out candy with her LO and hubby.  She offered to let us borrow a costume too! I was so pumped then I remembered....RSV/flu season UGGGG!!! Her LO is in daycare.  Should we go or politely decline and tell her that we will definatly do it next year...IDK

Re: WWYD? Halloween

  • it's hard to pass these things up I know.  My neices and nephews are going to be at my in laws house, but they will be there long enough to eat and then go trick or treating, so we are going, but I am going to isolate and wear the baby while they are there.  I will probably sit back and wait for some help from the more experienced mommies...:)
  • we are paranoid freaks so I definitely would not go but I do not know the health of your child, etc.  I do know that my niece & nephew were exposed to H1N1 in daycare & they only go twice a week.  I haven't seen them since stella was born in may.  it's hard but i could not deal with the guilt if my lo got sick, especially since she would certainly end up back in the hospital. :(

  • Honestly, in your place, I wouldn't go. I'd be super bummed about it, but that's how we lived all last year.
  • Unfortunately, I wouldn't go either :( It sucks, doesn't it? :(
  • I'd be more worried about the passing out candy. I'm sure lots of parents let their kids trick-or-treat when they are sick. If their LO isn't sick, could you go over there before trick-or-treating? And maybe request that they give him/her a bath and change his/her clothes before you get there?
