Help! 9 Runny diapers!

Seriously 9 dirty runny diapers today is what we are up to with Carly! This is in a 7 hour period! Her poor butt is raw red! She is going to the pedi tomorrow for a follow up from her broncitis from 3 weeks ago but until then, wtf! I have been putting triple paste on her, but she is pooping so much I dont think the diaper cream can even kick in. She screams bloody murder when I change her. :( Right now I am letting her lay on the blanket butt naked to let it air dry. Any ideas/suggestions??

  • Loading the player...
  • maybe rotovirus?

stomach virus that causes an insane amount of diherrea.  i think letting her air dry is the best.  be sure to keep her hydrated.  what did the pedi say to do in the mean time?

  • DS has been going through that off and on for weeks now. I think it's teeting because he's acting fine otherwise. His butt was exactly the same and his pedi recommended an ointment called Bag Balm. I found it in our local drugstore in the hand cream aisle in a green square tin. Looks similar to vasoline and smells a little yucky and it's original use was for cows/horses to prevent them from chapping in the wintertime. It worked AWESOME! Better than anything I ever used and he hardly cried when I used it - I don't think it burned like the cream did.

Good luck! Hope she feels better!

  • Was she on antibiotics? Some cause diarrhea.
