Pregnant after a Loss

levels dropped..

Hey ladies..got my second draw this morning and my beta went from a 36 to a 26..progestrone from 14.9 to a 4.  Not good! According to my LMP I am around 5 weeks..but since I belive I ovulated so late in my cycle I don't think I am quite that far along.  My dr was not in the office today so they won't be able to tell me what the dr thinks until tomorrow and of course the nurse who gave me the #s couldn't infer anything from the results. All she said was..well you are definitly pregnant (that was before she looked at my beta from Mon) then gave a big sigh when I told her what my beta was on Monday.  So the question is...do you think this is a chemical pregnancy since it is so early..surely I won't have to go through the whole d-c thing again since I am so early in pregnancy right?? awwh so frustrating. Help!

Re: levels dropped..

  • I am so sorry. That doesn't sound like good news to me. :( I think you should definitely wait to see if your body takes care of things on your own. I hope your dr. has some good input. Again, I am so sorry. That is so heartbreaking. (((BIG HUGS)))

  • oh, that sucks. I'm sorry. I don't know about a cp, as I've never had one and never had progesterone #'s to compare.

But,if this is a cp or mc, no, I don't think you'll have to do a d&c or anything.

  • First off, I want to say I am so sorry.  I know how hard it is to be going through it a second time.  For the record, we miscarried at 5wks exact and we didn't need a D&C.  It was just like a normal period...i was just more emotional.

  • I'm sorry, hun.  That sounds like what happened to me with my chem pg in May.  I wouldn't expect a D&C at this point.  *hugs*
  • oh i'm so sorry hon. i don't think you'll need a d&c, at least not as a first option. your in my thoughts and prayers.
  • Oh no =( I'm so sorry to hear that. I believe, from what I've read, chemical pgs end really early on so maybe that's what you have. Regardless of what it is, it's no fun and you shouldn't have to go through it again.

  • Of course we can't say for sure...but it does sound like a cp to me.  I am so sorry.  :(  Most likely when your levels get low enough you will m/c naturally...very much like a heavy period.  Big hugs.
