What is the coldest you would let DC...

Play in a bounce house outside? I found an awesome deal on a bounce house (even goes with our theme) for DD's party. Her party is December 12th, and we live in GA. The year I had her, it was 60s, close to 70. The average is probably low to mid 50s. Would you let your DC play in one if the weather was in the 50s?

  • Well considering we camped in a tent outside in the low 50's in IN - I would say yes - she could play in it.....lol

Big Smile  I agree that 50s really isn't that bad, and for the price I'm getting it, I will probably do it anyway, I just worry that parents will be mad, cause of course their child will want to play when they see it.

  • DD loves playing outside, so unless it's raining or snowing heavily, I let her play even when it's cold. I make sure to bundle her up, and bring her inside if it seems like she's getting too cold.

You might want to let the other parents know that the kids will be playing outside so they can dress them accordingly. I wouldn't want DD playing outside in a dress in the cold weather!

  • If it's a cloudy, windy 50-degree day then that's one thing.  Just a temp in the 50's wouldn't stop me from letting DD play though.

  • We live in GA too and I let DC go outside as long as it is above Freezing.  I just bundle him up really good.  He would go crazy if he had to stay in the house all day in the winter time.

  • I probably would, if she was dressed accordingly. I agree with KristenKD, I would let the parents know beforehand so they can bring jackets, etc. to play outside.
  • Ditto on letting the parents know.  As long as DD is properly dressed for the weather, we play outside in cool weather.  At daycare, they go out as low as 35 or 40 degrees as long as the wind chill isn't bad.

  • 50s sounds totally fine to me, as does anything over 20 as long as the los are properly dressed. We went to a winterwonderland themed bday party last year where the kiddos played on sleds in the snow ect. Just make sure to let the other parents know as pp's have said.

  • Thanks everyone! I will definitely let everyone know.
  • yep, Carson plays outside in the 50's
  • I live in MN and the kids go outside everyday unless its really, really cold. 50 is nothing!  I would include a note in the invite stating that weather permitting, there will be outside activities so please bring clothes to keep your child warm or something along those lines.
