ocd anyone?

Totally came out of no where. Our house has big picture windows in the living room and dining room and it?s a pretty open floor plan so you can see right across most of the house. Right now we have these awesome bamboo roman shades, which look fantastic. However, people can see right through them and don?t do much for privacy, especially at night when our lights our on. We have a lot of electronics in plain site. It kinda creeps me out, okay it does creep me out completely that people can see what we have and maybe come back and break in. Granted we live in a nice area in a new development and on a cult-a-sac but still... it can happen anywhere. And now that the baby is coming, the holidays are fast approaching (yay!) I want to replace them. I don?t want no crooks stealing our presents! Lol.

I told dh last night all I wanted was wood blinds for my birthday (in two weeks!). Kind of an odd present but shoot, if it makes me feel more secure and at ease, I?m all for it! Now I just need to decide if we should go with the white or oak wood blinds...I think white will make it more fresh, especially since we have chocolate sheers that drape across the top and sides.

Anyone else experiencing any ocd security issues? Lol.

I want several things that are all security related.  DH is joking that I want to turn this place into a compound!   I totally understand!

 PS. We have white wood blinds and tan walls, they really pop and look very clean, I love them

Ohh i bet that looks great. We have this sagey color on our walls...it?s time for a change. I kind of want a light tannish/gray color for the primary walls and then accent in a brick red/orange color on a wall in our kitchen that is mainly cabinets. I think that would still look good with our chocolate sheers and the white... I told dh while he?s off for two weeks in December that he can get started on painting, too. Haha. I?ve been wanting the colors changed for a while but we just haven?t done it. Dh?s trade in the deal is surround sound for upstairs. He told me last night that?s what he wanted and I quite don?t understand why he can?t go downstairs and listen to that surround sound. His defense was "The basement tv is only a 46 inch..the one upstairs is a 50 inch and it needs quality sound, too!" I just laughed...and said, "Welp, you better get started on those blinds!" haha!!!

I just need to do some more shopping around for good deals on wood or faux wood blinds that do custom measuring.

Not yet but I'm sure I will be once LO gets here and DH goes back to work (he works nights).  It took me almost our entire first year of marriage before I felt safe alone in our house at night, even though our neighborhood is extremely safe.  Now I'll have my LO to worry about!
