Children's books?

We're trying to build up a library for baby.  Can anyone recommend some good titles?

  • i love the book "God gave us you!" They also have a book for when you have another one. It's called "God gave us two!" They are adorable!

Another cute book is "The Hungry Caterpillar", "If you give a mouse a cookie", and any Dr. Suess books are cute.

Those aren't really BABY books...but they are books that every child should have! They are just WAY too cute! Hope that helps!

  • Lots of great titles mentioned already.  For the younger set, anything by Sandra Boynton is usually a hit.

  • I'm a big fan of any Little Golden Books. And any Dr. Suess are really good for them to look at when they are small, even if they dont' get the story, the colors stimulate their brains!

  • I stole this idea from my friend's baby shower and had it used at mine, so if you haven't had one already, it's a thought. Since baby can't read or use a card, have everyone bring their favorite childhood book and write baby a note on the inside cover. That way it's sentimental and useful! I now have a basket full of great books, and surprisingly, no duplicates!

  • DDs favourites are

Mr. Brown Can Moo Can you - Dr Seuss

    McElligots Pool - Dr Seuss

Paper Bag Princess - Robert Munsch

    Goodnight Moon

    Any Curious George

Any cardboard books, and ones with things to touch and feel really kept her interested when she was tiny.

I could give you a huge list of our favs, if you want more.  I like the ones that are fun for mom and dad to read b/c they notice your enthusiasm.  She has I love you forever too, but I can't read it to her with out crying so we don't pick it up often.

  • Someday (forget the author)

Just In Case You Ever Wonder by Max Lucado

  • Two of my favorites are

    Jamberry

    I love you stinky face

  • Horton Hears a Who and Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs were my favorite books as a child.

    Someday is beautiful!

I also like the David books by David Shannon... kids like the bright colors and wild pictures.
