did anyone here use a foley catheter to help open the cervix. it's like a balloon that they insert and it's supposed to jump start the labor before using pitocen. Any stories would be great. looks like that is what they will use and i need to know what to expect
Re: induction
Sorry,I can't help. For my induction they used a gel on my cervix then went to Pitocin after that.
Good luck.
I had a Foley Catheter for my induction. She put it in about 10pm when I was 1cm, 50% effaced. In the morning when it came out, I was 3-4cm and 60%.
It did what it was supposed to, but it was really uncomfortable. I had period-like cramps all night and having the tube taped to the inside of my leg made it feel like every time I moved I was pulling on the thing.
