Looking for something with low estrogen levels (I think, lol) - the patch is killing me. I've been back on it for a month (was on it 8+ years before getting pg with DS) and DH and I can BOTH tell it's not good. I'll leave it at that.
We will be trying for LO #3 in less than a year....
Not interested in -
Depo shot, Nuvaring, or Mirena, or anything that would go inside of me, thanks.
I'm not great at remembering things but will give the pill another go! So, what do you ladies use/recommend?
TIA =D
Re: Rec your BC pill
I refused to go back on the pill- for several reasons- 1. just one more thing for me to think about, 2. i think it should be his responsibility for a while to worry about family planning and 3. the cost of the co pay is RIDICULOUS for BC. I seriously don't get it- 4. It does horrible things for my metabolism 5. it really reduced my BM supply when i was nursing. I took two cycles of it- ... and went off them
So that meant condoms for us. DH doesn't like it but OH WELL. tuff. He had the GALL to tell me once 'well it makes things feel differen't--- yeah really? so does walking around nine months pregnant. Dontcha think i feel a tad different then?- deal with it.
Last time he made a comment. He needs to take one for the team for a few months until we are ready to start TTC.
Yes. I agree. The cost is ridiculous. I always complain to DH about them paying for Viagra but BC? No way.
I'm really, really close to not taking anything and I think we are o.k. with that. What I am not o.k. with is getting pg again this soon.
As for condoms ::rollseyes:: we tried using them after I had DD and before I went back on the patch. DH had a horrible allergic reaction to them - migraine for days.....couldn't explain it.
I went out and bought the non-latex kind (not the lamb-skin but the other kind) - wouldn't use them. Ummmm, DH, P&P is NOT BC!!!!!!!
Thank-gawd I wasn't pg at my 6 week PP appt. I would have had a meltdown in my OB's office.
I don't mind going on another pill BUT I haven't been on the pill in 10+ years. I don't even know what is out there and really don't wanna make another OB appt =/
I just need someone to point me in the right direction =D LOL.
Does anyone use the "Rhythm" method? I know it's not as fool proof as birth control but if done right - taking temperature daily, etc., it's supposed to be fairly effective right?
I can't think of a single type of birth control that is an option for me right now. The pill does awful things to me, I don't want anything inside of me, I dont' want anything that will affect my ability to breastfeed, etc.
That said, I also don't want to even think about getting pregnant until our LO-to-Be is a year old. At least.
I'm considering doing the Rhythm method but curious to see what other people think of that?
I think what you're talking about is called natural family planning, where you use your body temp/cervical mucous to determine your fertile time and avoid intercourse around it.
The rhythm method is just guessing your fertile time based on the calendar and your typical monthly cycle and it's responsible for a lot of babies!
I use the generic Seasonale pill where you get your period 4 times a year. I also have DH wear a condom. I do not want to get pregnant again now and I'm just a wee bit paranoid.
Such a pain. I don't want DH to wear condoms, I don't want to take the pill, I don't want anything inserted inside me, I don't want to get pregnant again too soon, I don't want to have to temp every morning, etc, etc, etc.
Too bad there's no perfect answer.
Check out Taking Charge of Your Fertility . . .it is always recommended as a good book for learning about natural family planning, as well as timing to get pregnant.
::Raises hand...writing this as I am healing from delivery:: Rhythm medthod = Big FAIL!
To be fair though, I didn't do temps or any of that stuff and DH and I had no problems getting pg for either of our children...meaning they weren't planned. GL to you though
TY - this sounds like what I am looking for!!
And the natural family planning thing???? Yeah right - with 2 kids, I don't have time to take my temp, check my CM, etc. LMAO.
Plus, I wouldn't trust myself or it.
I just spoke with my friend who tried this - she mentioned spotting....
Anyone have this issue?
