carpool??

Does anyone do it??  Through a company or maybe a co-worker??  My lease is up in January and to save some money, I am thinking about carpool.  My co-worker kind of lives near me, but our hours are alittle different.  If I can get a ride to work, then DH can pick me up.  I was going to ask her and offer money towards gas, but how much??  Gas here is $3.10 (cheap gas).  Is $40 a month to cheap??  How about $50??  WDYT???

My DH's coworker picks him up and brings him home. He does construction so they're hours are the same. He gives him 20 a week, but that's to and from work 5 days a week, plus they're driving 13 miles each way. I guess it really depends on how far that person has to drive to pick you up then take you both to work. You should test it, go from your house to co workers than work see how many miles it is. Calculate miles x average gas price where you are and then work out when you should give them that money.
