just now to say that they had received the H1N1 vaccination if I was interested.... I thanked her for calling and advised that I had decided against it. She then told me that of the 10 pg ladies she had called so far, 8 had also declined. I told her that I prefered to play it safe and take excellent care of myself, as I wasn't feeling too confident in the vaccine for many reasons, but mainly due to it's newness and that there were no long term study results on the effects it has on babies in utero (since no baby has been born yet whose mother had the shot). She then almost whispered to me "I completely agree with you." I've known from the beginning that my OB was on the fence and was leaving it up to each of his patients. And while I had my mind made up weeks ago, I am glad that they he give all of his patients the opportunity to get it and the right to choose.

Re: OB's office Called ....
Ditto.
Unfortunately, as much as I don't want it, I work with nearly 5000 people and go between three huge office buildings every day. The odds of me running into someone with H1N1 is very high, so I'm getting it. Boo.
Everyone has a choice unless you happen to be a healthcare worker in NY state (and even then there are loopholes). I know what you all mean though... I feel the pressure to get the shots at my OB's office.
That is great that they gave you a choice !! Once it becomes available to me, I will most likely get it as I work in an elementary school teaching 2nd grade - My classroom aide is out this week with "flu like symptons" and 3 of my students are out sick with "flu like symptons" ....sigh....30 kids were out sick today at school !
In a school of nearly 500 2nd and 3rd graders - I just feel that there are so many more chances of getting sick....:(
(it's times like this that I'm bitter that I lost my baby last year - I wouldn't be struggling with being pg and getting vaccinated !
