XP: DD learned how to undress... am I in trouble?

I figured you guys may have more advice than the 12-24m board...

We were hanging in the kitchen yesterday and when i turned around, DD had her shirt off and then pulled off her sweatpants and diaper.  While I'm proud of her for being able to take off her clothes, I'm worried!!  how do I get her to keep her clothes on?  Is it onsies and overalls from  now on?

Re: XP: DD learned how to undress... am I in trouble?

  • You're in trouble, but luckily it was a quick phase for us.  I tried to reason with DD and tell her that mommy had clothes on so she needed to wear clothes.  That didn't work too well.  Most of the time I just let her run around 1/2 naked.  Maybe not the best thing to do, but she got over the phase in about 2 weeks.

Watch her at naptime though.  I know too many kids who learn to take off all of their clothes and strip down naked.  If you don't see it happen, there is a good chance you'll have a mess on your hands by the time naptime is over.

  • I hated that phase!  Luckily it didn't last too long!  My DS liked to undress during nap/bedtime.  I was changing his bedding like crazy!  I had to resort to putting onesies back on him.  It was the only thing that helped until the phase ended.
  • Ok... well I am glad to hear its just a phase.  I am cool with just putting onsies on her until she's over it!  Thanks!
