What have you made lately?
The only part DD could really help with was twisting the pipecleaner, but it's still very festive and fun. Just wrap a toilet paper roll in orange tissue paper (I used 2 sheets), stuff a bit of orange paper or foam in the middle and twist a pipecleaner. So cute, and you can certainly use the toilet paper after it's finished.
A while back I ordered colored masking tape from Oriental Trading because DD loves tape. I haven't known what to do with it ... until now. I gave it to DD in strips and she loved putting it on a paper plate to make a pumpkin. Add some black triangles and a foam/pipecleaner stem, and you've got a Jackolantern! She loved this and we've made several for friends, too. (Used glue dots to stick everything to the plate.)
This is a mom-made project but DD loved with it and it entertained her all morning, and it didn't cost me anything. We recently got back from a trip and she's been talking about the airport ever since. So I made a (very rudimentary) one using a box, some foam letters and (it's a bit hidden) a tape strip on the inside that is either the moving sidewalk (her favorite part of the airport, which we rode 900 times) or the runway. I also cut out some extra foam airplanes. She really liked the personalized airline tickets, too.
Re: Craft post - all super easy (and clean)
Your kid is so lucky to have a mom like you....
seriously
I agree!!!
Me too... you are so creative.
Totally agree with pp.
But it's the fact that you TAKE the TIME to do these things with her! And honestly, I have no idea how you still have time to cook/clean/whatever else you do. You amaze me;)
I think I do a craft project like once a month with her:( I know my MIL reads to her and is her playmate all day long on the days I do work. Makes me jealous that I can't be with her more, but I'm also grateful that she gets so much exposure to other creative minds.
agree with pp!
Olivia loved the moving sidewalk at the airport this past weekend too!
