I can't get over how much easier life is with LO home.
For two weeks I spent 13 hour days in the unit with LO, partly because I wasn't medically cleared to drive and others had to pick and drop me off around DH's work schedule and that I (obviously) wanted to be there with LO. I was so worn down and so tired physically and emotionally- I don't know how some of you cope with much longer hospital stays and my thoughts and prayers are with you.
Having her home feels like a breeze, she's stayed (pretty much) on her eating every three hours schedule, she sleeps a lot, tolerates DH & I's need for cuddling with her, likes her swing, and aside from removing her leads (apnea monitor) she rarely wails.
And I feel so rested. I nap between her night feedings, and I try to nap between two daytime feedings- the system works pretty well so far... DH is even impressed at how rested he feels (and while he is off he gets up with me at night to change the diaper and hangs out while she eats).
I hate the apnea monitor, but that's life for a little while...
Re: I'm probably jinxing myself but...
It was definitely like that for us for the first few weeks. But as she got older, she started waking more, fussing, etc. and developed colic. It was a mess!
I hope your LO stays so good!
That's great! Life at home is great because it's normal. We had our challenges for sure, but it was nice.
I hope it stays easy for you!!!
