Or does he/she look a lot like DH?
A few friends kept making jokes this weekendthat I look more like Tay?s nanny since she looks SO much like DH. ?You?re agreat nanny??.?you?re around a lot for a nanny.? She looks so much like mike?yadayada.
?
I played it off and joked along with them, saying things like ?if it wasn?t for these extra 20lbs I can?t lose, I?d guessthat she wasn?t my baby either?.
?
Truth of the matter is, I?m kinda bummed shedoesn?t look anything like me!
?
Dh tried to make me feel better and say thatshe has my chin. Great, we share chins.
?
Does not looking like LO bug you at all??
Re: Does your LO look like you? Vent inside as well...
you know, I read somewhere that babies tend to look like their daddy so that it would help daddy with bonding.
My DH is a blond and blue eyed dane. I am a half mexican brunette with dark eyes. G looks JUST LIKE his daddy. I always said that people must thing I am the nanny, since we look nothing alike. As he got older though people have started telling me they see more of my features in him.

When Andrew was little so many people who say that he looked just like DH, one friend even said to me"where does he get the redish hair?" ummm I guess the fact that his hair is the exact color of mine didn't register? Now that he's older he totally looks like me, but I'm surprised at how often people say he looks just like DH. Now Cooper on the other hand is a DH mini me through and through. He looks nothing like me and I've had people ask if I'm babysitting him.
If people made nanny type comments to me I would just flat out say, hey I know you're teasing but enough is enough already.
My daughter is the spitting image of my husband (although she doesn't have a goatee). No one has ever said those nanny comments to me, though... wow, people are just thoughtless. They do make a lot of "well, I guess you know it's your's, then, B!" comments instead. (!?!)
When we have our next kid I'm going to say, "Well, we wanted to name him/her after her father, which is why we're calling him/her 'Milkman Poolboy S'."

rosie has my eyes .. shape and color .. but the rest of her is a carbon copy of her dad, his brothers and all of the neices and nephews on THAT side of the family.
her saving grace is that people look at her long skinny fingers and at my long skinny fingers and realize that yes she's mine :P
I guess there is some inherent thing that makes us want our children to look like us. I really didn't care if he looked like me, but I wanted him to look like my side of the family. Is that vain? People tell me all the time that he looks just like my husband. I just don't see it. I think he looks just like my oldest brother.
I have to be honest and say that I would rather he get more of my physical traits than dh's. That is vain, but honest.
Oh, and those nanny comments are just stupid and insensitive.
I struggled with this a bit with my oldest. Her dad is vietnamese so his darker eyes & hair were very dominant - as shes gotten older people have started to tell me she looks a lot like me - they change so much as they grow. People are lame sometimes and think theyre being silly with those comments.
And FWIW - K & I totally have?the?same chin too!! haha.
Either way - you've got a beautiful little girl on your hands!! try to ignore them.?
I've read that about newborns looking like their fathers at first, too.
After that I think it's a case of dominant genes.
That's my $.02.

She may start to look more like you as she gets older. DD used to look only like DH - there wasn't a hint of me in there. The comments didn't really bother me too much, except for the fact that since she is an IVF baby there really is a chance that she isn't biologically mine...but once her personality started coming out it was clear there was no mistake in the lab. And, as she's gotten older, she physically has some of my traits as well.

DS was born looking very much like his daddy and his daddy was thrilled. I was too, but mostly because he had dimples like me.
But as he's grown some, it's obvious to everyone that he lookes more like me. He has my hair, my chin, my ears, my hands (which are just like my dad's). He even has more of my mannerisms than Dh's.
Thankfully it's not a contest and the baby really just looks like themselves anyway, right?
?
LOL! (and LOL about the matching chin) What is it about our lil girls and our chins?
?
I can't wait to see what she looks like when she gets older. She's the cutest baby in the world (of course i'm biased here, lol) and I love her just the same if she's DH's carbon copy.
Between the nanny comments and the many comments of FB that she looks like DH, i'm like, seriously? Are my hips the only proof that I gave birth to this child? LOL!!!
If looking like DH helps them bond....I definitely believe it. DH is such a good dad! We have a little daddy's girl on our hands!?
oh, and BTW...BOTH your DDs are beautiful! You have a really beautiful family!?
My DD looks like my husband spawned her and I had nothing to do with the process. I always say that if I hadn't pushed her out myself, I would think I had nothing to do with making her. That said, I love when people tell me that anything on Eve looks even a bit like me. A girl at the mall said that she had my eye shape last week and I think I scared her with my profuse thank you's.
And just to prove my point: https://everydayeve.blogspot.com/2009/06/talk-with-elephants.html
I agree with what KellyMarie said...I know Tony loves that Jonathan looks like him...takes away the guesswork on if I cheated LOL
ALso JLK obviously doesnt share any of my physical charactersistcs, although as you know we look alike. And that "look alike" is happening more and more and it will for you to.
Because she makes the same faces I do...uses her hands the same way I do...etc..And I can actually see myself in her now!
So just be patient and wait to see how she changes..it will happen
Oh and tell your friends you dont apprecuiate what they are saying..thats ok to do
br
I would of been pissed, i'm sorry they were being so rude. saying it once ok, ha ha but any more than that is taking it too far.
i get soooo much that she looks like dh, which i hate. if she wasnt born with dark hair im sure i would be getting the same remarks. my sister is the only one who says she looks like me lol i think she says it to make me feel better.
im so curious to see her grow up and to see whos features start to come out. of course i want mine. I look exactly like my mom but i was #3 and my mom looks just like her mom but my mom was also #3 so maybe I will have to have 3 to get my clone lol
she does have my fingers though which is funny.. i cant really tell anything else, some people say she might have my eyes but its so hard to tell right now. i have a feeling she will look like dh though, so oh well. i just pray she keeps her dark hair
I'm dark, hispanic, dark hair... DD is pale, white and light hair with blue eyes. I've been asked if I was the nanny 3 different times by random strangers. It sucks.
I wanted my daughter to have darked skin, just so I don't have to worry about the sun/burn issue. I do wish she looked more like me. I really do wish I had a more witty response when people say, "Oh she must be all daddy".
I think M looks so much like you!!
DS looks just like me....and my DH....and even weirder DH and I looked alike when we were babes
If any of our kids doesn't look just like us it would be a surprise, we are both mixes of all ethnicities to the point where we just look like mutts. J does have fab strawberry blonde hair from somewhere back on the family tree - I was born with dark almost black hair and DH blonde but we both are medium brown now.
