Help with travel with small kids...

Stacie's post got me thinking.  DH and I have been TTC since July.  I am now in the two week waiting period again, and if I AM pregnant, I would be due around July 22.  My bestfriend is getting married on Nov 6, 2010.  We also have friends getting married in Oct, so DH and I have decided we will each go to one.  I am actually MARRYING my bestfriend and her fiance, so obviously I am going to that one.  I thought it was going to be in NH, so I figured great...I will go up for the w/e, bring new baby and leave DS with DH.  That way I can breastfeed and such.  No big deal, it would be a quick trip.

Well, my besfriend emailed me this morn that now they are looking into a destination wedding.  Possibly a cruise.  It would work well bc I won't have to pay for airfare, bc if they do the cruise, they will go out of Tampa.  Ok fine.  Is it ok to bring a small child???  Like a baby a few months old?

  • I had a destination wedding and we welcomed all children. It all depends on your friend. Obviously you would need to bring your husband or someone to care for your baby. They will also not be able to go in the pools on the ship, unless it's a Disney ship, until they are potty trained. You have so much time to worry about this. I do hope you are pregnant now. The reality is you may be nine months pregnant, just having given birth or anything else can happen between now and then. I'm not trying to be a downer. It's just way too early to worry about making plans. I tried to make plans hoping I would be pregnant soon after ttc. It took us 11m to finally get pg with #2. We got pregnant on our first attempt with OPKs with our first son. So you just never know.

EXACTLY!!!!  we have only been trying since July, but this is the first month that I feel I hit it right on.  We will see...but, I also know that it may turn out that I am 9 months preggers or just have had a baby, and as much as I would like to ensure this does not happen it just is not possible!

  • I think it's good that you're being realistic about how difficult it is to plan everything. Fun things to think about, but still tricky. You'll just have to wait and see how it all plays out. Hopefully it'll all fall together in a good way- GL!
