Trying to Get Pregnant

wrinkle creams?

Good morning ladies,

I have a question about wrinkle creams and TTC.  I use a Neutrogena overnight cream; it is not regulated by the FDA because it is a beauty product and has no warnings.  A few years ago my dermatologist prescribed Tazorac, which is another product to help skin layers turn over faster, but it is regulated by the FDA and has big warnings about "do not use if you are pg, may become pg, or are at risk of pg' (what ever 'risk of pg' means) (I only used this for a couple weeks because it irritated my skin).

As far as I can tell, these products work in a similar way.  Has anyone heard/read anything about using wrinkle creams while TTC?

Thanks!

Re: wrinkle creams?

  • I think it depends on the active ingredient and how much of it there is. I know that you are not supposed to use retinol or glycolic acid if you are pregnant. I don't know about if you are ttc though. The baby doesn't take anything from your body for a few weeks. So, I get glycolic peels once a month and will continue to until I get a +. (Thank goodness because I would have been po'd to have missed 14-15 peels!!). Anyway, I think you can probably just look up the active ingredients on google and see what comes up.
