Only Pumping 1 ounce

I am pumping in between feedings and only getting about 1 oz.  Is this normal or should I be getting more? He is only 4 days old.

Re: Only Pumping 1 ounce

  • 1 ounce is great! It doesn't seem like alot, but in between regular feedings it's great that you can pump that. If you keep pumping between feedings, you'll boost your supply too. It's a good habit, stick with it. I slacked off with the pumping and had supply issues for a while. you're doing great Smile

  • that's really good at this point!  i pump right after feedings sometimes and only get about 1.5-2oz between both breasts...

  • that is outstanding, especially at that point! I was only getting about 1/4- 1/3 oz after feeding for 30-40 minutes at 2 weeks old. And when I started pumping instead of BF I was still only getting a little over 1/2 oz.

  • I could cry after reading this. I'm getting 1.5-2oz combined at nearly 1 freaking month PP. I was getting drops at 4 days.
  • I am with Susie. I am either completely dry after a feeding or I am only pumping drops. I am hoping this gets better.
  • Thank you ! I feel better.
