Airplane travel for Thanksgiving with DD

The flight is only about 2 hours, but I still want it to go as smooth as possible.  I bought the GoGo Babyz for the carseat, and plan on taking carry on's only.  We are seated at the back of the plane.  Any suggestions/ tips on keeping LO occupied and well behaved? TIA!

  • Portable DVD player and a lifetime supply of fruit snacks? Haha, that would last my daughter about 2 hours.

  • we brought lots of snacks for DS.  and bought a new toy.  he ate the entire way down to philly airpot.

the way home, he threw up the entire way!  ha ha ha!!

  • When we travel we bring snacks, stickers, color wonder markers, play doh, and a cheap fan that lights up.  Oh, and a ring pop if all else fails.

  • we just flew this weekend. I recommend removable stickers for the window.  Crayons work great. anything new - books.  Things that they have to work on - like things to sort.
  • Are you travelling alone with DD or is your SO going with you?  I'm just thinking that carry ons + baby + carseat is A LOT to manage.

Personally, the Gogo Babyz was a PIA for us.  Taking a carseat through security took 15 add'l minutes because they had to take the whole thing apart.  It wouldn't fit through the screen machine.

Since the first time, we now: check in the carseat, gave back the GoGo to the people we borrowed it from, only 1 diaper bag/kid carry on and one for us (assuming 2 adults), and bring a diaper bag full of "stuff".  Snacks galore and new/little toys as suggested (Target dollar bins are great for this).  Also we rent the DVD player and the travel sized magnadoodle.

    Good luck.  Have fun!
