boobs out of control

I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for where to go to fitted for a good, *supportive* nursing bra (where hopefully the people doing the fitting know what they're doing).  I'm only at 25 weeks and the situation here is completely out of hand-- like, maybe into DD territory-- and I need help.  Don't care if I end up having to buy more nursing bras later if, God forbid, they get even bigger.  I'm afraid if I don't find a way to properly support these things now, I'm going to end up with boobs that hang below my belt by the time I'm 30.

  • I guess I'd just go get fitted and buy a bigger normal bra for now. No sense in spending money on a nice nursing bra with the chance you could get bigger.

  • I agree on not buying nursing bras. They're EXPENSIVE!!

But, for fitting, I'd go to Nordstroms at MOA. There are few fantastic fitters there, and well worth the trip. I've been sized at motherhood, and every time the bra was ok to wear for maybe 3 hours before it was uncomfortable. And I've been sized wrong at VS before as well.

  • I've actually found the best fitting bras at Lane Bryant. They will measure you and help you with the fit. Make sure you do a search online before you go to print out a coupon.

  • I switched to a nursing bra right around the time you're thinking of now.  The underwire of regular bra was cutting into me and was not very comfortable.  I really like the Bravado bras.  I know Hot Mama carries.  They're a little more spendy but well worth the money.  I got fitted a Nordstroms first and then headed to Hot Mama.

  • Awesome.  I used Bravado's sizing guidelines and according to them I'm an F (!!) cup right now.  I know everyone is saying not to buy a good nursing bra now, but I can't handle the underwires anymore and I need something supportive.  F cups demand it. It's getting downright embarassing-- like, when I go out in public I feel like my breasts arrive places 5 seconds before I do.

Anyway, thank you all for your advice.

  • Not that you can get a "fitting" or anything there, but the Target in SLP, behind Excelsior & Grand, has Gillian O'Malley nursing bras on clearance for like $10.

Also, I am in the same situation as OP.  Boobs expanding as marvelous rate - up 2 cup sizes at least - @ 17wks!!!

So, I bought some uber cheap Platex soft cup bras, $16 each.  Good fit, no underwire etc.  Good support but comfy.  They do have DD, E & F cups.  You might have to ask where they are, because I found them at Target on one of the lower shelves in pink, lavender and tan.
