Can you put placemats in dishwasher?

The laminated paper kind, or any other. Does it matter if the dishwasher is on heated dry cycle?

I've determined that washing DD's placemat is my least favorite chore. And seeing food on cloth (such as a cloth placemat, napkin) really grosses me out, so that's out.

    I think the heat would be way too much for a laminated paper kind. Could you buy a bunch of cheap cloth napkins to use for DD for awhile? Like a bib, they could be single use and straight into the washing machine?

    I've do it all the time for plastic ones (I feel like it's the best way to get them clean!)  I turn the drying heat off, though.
