Dumb ? If a scale is low on batteries, can the weight be wrong?

Just curious, my digital scale is low on batteries ( the LO sign was a clue) and I am wondering if that would alter the weight sensor thus making it incorrect?

    Yup.

    Do you have a 5-pound bag of flour or sugar, or a 1-pound can of something to test its accuracy?
