I don't really like Olive, but I love Olivia! I love to eat olives, but I don't consider it a name - just a food.

Honestly, I think it's very strange. Like naming your kid apple. Olives are one of my favorite foods, so that's probably why it's so weird to me too. Now if you name your daughter Olivia and her friends decide to call her Olive as a nn, that's a different story.

I don't mind it. 

DH had a dream one time that I named our daughter Olive Branch without consulting him.  So I don't imagine we'd ever use it but it's okay.

I think olives are a gross food so it kind of turns me off to the name.

Love it!!! Many years ago I took care of an elderly woman named Olive (her last name was Pretty awwwww). She was beautiful and sweet and everything lovely elderly ladies should be. It would definitely be on my list if I didn't have a niece and a cousin named Olivia.

I LOVE the name Olive!  It's very old fashioned and those names are coming back.

We just named our puppy Olive because my Husband refused to keep it on our baby name list.  If I could have named my daughter that I would.  It's adorable!

I love it. I always wanted to use it to honor my grandmother, Ollie. But my BIL/SIL named my niece Olivia before long before DD was born and it was too close for me.

I think its sad that people would suggest taking a perfectly good, classic name and turning it into a completely unoriginal "Olivia".

Can't stand it and have no idea why it has become so popular. Guess folks want their kids to hate them 13 years down the road. It's a name that will NOT be "cute" or "trendy" in the next couple of years and I predict LOTs of name changes.

It was my DH's top name pick for our puppy...I overpowered him and her name is thus, Harlow...not saying it's a dog's name by any means but my husband is super picky about names and it was one of few that we both liked!
