I just discovered this board and haven't lurked long but wanted to say hi. I'm glad this board is here because single parents really need support from one another.
With that said, I have a 10 year old and I was a single mom for 8 years. I am married now (not the biological dad but he did adopt him after we got married). I technically consider myself a single mom still because DH's job doesn't allow him to be home with us that much. 
Being a single parent is difficult at times but yet so rewarding. I still ask where my manual is!
