I hope I spelled that right!
I read that you found a nanny to be a more financially sound idea after 2. DH and I are looking into our options for after DD#2 is here, and since we live in the same general area I was just wondering how/where you found your nanny? We're just starting to look at options, we love our sitter but she might not be the best financially after #2 is here.
You can PM me if you're more comfortable with that, since this is kind of a private subject. TIA!

Re: Howleyshell
Craigslist.
I just posted and ad with very specific details about what we needed.
We interviewed a lot of people and I was stunned at how many of them didn't even LOOK at my children during the interview - much less interact with them!
But we eventually found a GREAT nanny.
Another thought is to check out the Nest Colorado newlywed board and ask there for a rec.
The cost of 2 in a center was more than the nanny who we ended up paying $100 a day for watching both kids and having them HERE was such a huge plus for me.
I stayed home with my first for the first year and when I was lucky enough to get a part time job when the second was 6 months old I really didn't want to force him awake and drag him out of bed, force breakfast on him, etc to get him to a center if I didn't have to.
Now that they're older I'd be fine with it but for us there was just something about that first year that made us want them to be able to sleep in their own beds and have their home be where they were most of the time.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
Oh....
and do you know about the local Nestie Halloween party this Saturday?
It's at Broadway and C-470 from 10 - 2 this Saturday.
There'll be a truck load of Mommas and kiddos in costumes there!
Lemme know if you'd like the e-vite.

That's funny, we found our current sitter on Craigslist as well! Thanks for the great rec's.
I completely understand about wanting them to be in their own beds/home. Right now, DD just goes to the sitter after she wakes up, which is really nice and allows her to keep her own schedule. I'm more comfortable with that as well. I do wish she could be in our home, but for now it's working at the sitter's. We are looking into me working part time after this DD arrives, and paying a nanny $100/day 2-3 days a week would save us some big money.
Oh, and please send me the Evite! I'd love to look at it and see if it's something we can fit into the weekend! Thank you!
