Re: Christmas shopping

  • I voted for do it now because I hate the crowds as it gets closer to Christmas.

  • My theory is do it now and keep the receipts.  If you find better deals, you can always return.
  • I've started, but haven't bought anything not on sale....

for insance - the LeapFrog Tag reading pen....originally $50.  Bought it when it was buy two get one free on LF learning toys...so I bout that, with $10 off Tag coupon, $5 off $25 purchase, paid $19 for a set of 4 books, and got the $18 case free.  Then 12 days later the pen was on sale for $30...so I got a price adjustment.  So  I got $87 worth of stuff for $34

I have everything bought that we went for our kids except their 'big gift' and I'll wait for some sort of sale.   And I need to get a few stocking/small things...and for the other kids I buy for, I have about 2 left, and one is all gift cards (she's 16).

  • We don't have a ton of $ to spend this year either, so I have been trying to pick up things here and there as I see them.  I probably won't be able to get out Black Friday because my husband is working so no sense in waiting. lol
  • I can find most of the things for family kids at ross or tj max.  So I always check there first.  After that I look at big lots and see what I can get then I wait for sales for the rest.
