hanging a blanket, ???

I got a beautiful handmade blanket for LO at my shower last weekend. It is so pretty that I think I want to hang it up in the nursery but now I am not sure how I should do that. I don't want to make any holes in it or sew anything onto it to hold it up. Any ideas? And if you have an idea, where would I find it?

TIA!

Re: hanging a blanket, ???

  • Could you use clips somehow?  Or use a quilt rack.  This wouldn't be on the wall, but would be displayed in the room.

  • I think you can find something made especially for this purpose (for hanging decorative quilts)... I would try a fabric store like Joann's or something like that.  If they don't have it they can probably tell you where to find it
  • I've asked this too, and all the ladies said use clips. IDK where to buy them, but I saw a photo of a rod on a wall, with clips coming off to hang the quilt from. It looked wonderful!
  • JoAnn's or any quilt supply store has these great wooden blocks that you can stain or paint.  You attach the blocks to the wall.  They have little roller balls inside of them and you slip the ends of the quilt between the roller balls and the wooden blocks.  That way there's no damage to the quilt.
  • you can always frame it and display it as an art piece!

  • I think I have seen these clips in the curtain section at wal-mart. Then I think people use a regular curtain rod with these clips. I have not personaly hung a blanket this way. Also you can buy shelves that hang on the wall and have slot for the blanket. Try a wood craft store.
