When do babies stop scratching face?

My LO scratched himself a lot too. He finally stopped somewhere around two months.

My FIL teases me because I never let LO go w/o mittens or one of those outfits with the foldover sleeves.  So far no scratches.

Granted, my LO is only 2weeks old.

Bella is starting to ease up on the face wrecking this week, we've been letting her go mitten/sock/fold-over free during the day with pretty good luck but we don't tempt it at night.

my LO looks like he had a run in with a cougar or something. he has a scratch on his cheek, on his eyelid and one on his nose. poor baby! and his nails are really short too. somehow they are still sharp though even though i filed them each like 4 times.
