we are getting the kids a kitchen for christmas. I have been looking at a lot of them and think I might have narrowed it down. Which one do you like best...do you have one of these??
I didn't realize this for a while because I was always rinsing the dishes around the corner when Jack finished wiping his face after meals. I found out a few weeks later that he would take his Clean and Go wipe after cleaning up after every meal, go wash it in the washer (it dings when it's done), and then put it in the laundry basket underneath. I only noticed one day when I glanced into the basket to see it was full of white cloths. This is a memory I will never forget.
I got laughed at when researching kitchens because I wanted a kitchen that had a little counter space for work space. Jack sees me prepping foods and wants to prep as well. I like that this has a little counter prep area on the right side. The iron board also pulls out a little on the left side for added prep space.
I've also found there's plenty of space for dishes, and such. I put a little cup behind the sink for Jack's cooking utensils. The top can hold pots and pans, the two areas below the dishwasher and oven hold more plates and bowls and then there's the rounded cabinet on the right side that also holds items. All food stays in the fridge. There's also a little phone holder and chalk board above the right side that Jack loves to play with.
I wondered if he would outrgrow it too soon but I looked at him cooking at it last night and he isn't near the top of it yet. I would expect at least a full year to a year and a half before he hits the top. His little brother will get to use it too so for us it's been a fabulous purchase. It is a solid sturdy little kitchen.
Jack's little friend has the Step 2 giant (not walk in) kitchen and he has a hard time with it. The drawers fall out, the baskets end up being set on top, and he looks at me and says there's no place to cut his foods. ha!
