We are on chat all day to each other. So, that's how we communicate (rather than email/text/phone). However, when he has class or is in a meeting (not near a computer) I get texts. We call each other when we are in the car too. We talk non stop...teehee! Always have, it's just how we do it.

If DH is home and I'm at work I'll call during breaks which is just lunch and specials (I'm a teacher).  If we are both at work, I rarely do any of the above.
