DD has been fine in a crib and even likes it. I go get her as soon as she stirs and usually justs plays in there if I put her in there after a diaper change (when I go wash my hands). Last night after a diaper change she put her foot up on the railing, not quit on top but close. She is not adventerous, not a climber (can't even climb onto the couch although I think she is just lazy).
I am just really scared now after I saw her put her foot there. I don't know if she has the strength to pull herself up but...
Let me know your situation.
I don't know what to do.
Re: NE's DC still in a crib or should my DD be put in a bed?
My DD will be 2 next wk and is still in her crib, THANK GOD! lol
Its lowered all the way and if she puts her foot up on the railing it IS long enough to lay on the top of the rail but she hasnt climbed. I am not looking forward to the day I have to move her, she sleeps 8pm -9am and she'll play in her crib till she falls asleep or in the morning if she wakes up early and sometimes goes back to sleep...Im just not looking forward to rocking the boat, PLUS I have a 6 mo old so its nice to tend to her while DD#1 is safe in her crib....More like peace of mind I guess. DONT RUSH IT! lol
My DD is close in age to yours, and she's still in her crib. She's never tried to climb out, even though she tends to climb on everything else. We plan to keep her in there for another month or two, and then we'll move her to a twin bed in her big girl room to give her time to get adjusted before the new baby comes. She already naps on a twin bed because she sleeps better there than in the crib at naptime for some reason, but we're not sure how she'll handle overnight since she's been waking up once a night most nights since we moved two months ago.
It seems most people rush to make the switch once their DC starts climbing out of the crib, but your DD isn't quite there yet. It's really up to you. I'd probably try to keep her there as long as possible!
DD is still in her crib. She went through a phase when she was about 16mo old where she would try and climb out. She only did it right when I put her to bed. I watched her on the video monitor and would intercept before she climbed over. The phase only lasted about a week and she hasn't tried to climb since.
If you aren't ready to switch her, what about using a crib tent? That will keep her from being able to climb out.
