2nd Trimester

Baby measuring a week behind schedule. Anyone else?

Of course this made me nervous as all hell at yesterday's U/S but the doc assured me that it was completely normal. Especially since I'm very petite, he said that she will probably be a small baby (kinda glad about this one..lol). Still, I'm a little worried. Anyone else's little one measuring behind a little?

Re: Baby measuring a week behind schedule. Anyone else?

  • Mine was measuring behind, 3 days at 8 weeks, 6 days at 13 weeks... now he is measuring 4 days ahead at 20 weeks!

  • Mine was measuring a few days behind schedule at my first u/s (around 7 weeks.)  I'll be interested to see how it's doing now!  My u/s is November 2.

  • Mine has been consistently ahead.  I really wouldn't worry about it, though because the farther along you get, the more room for variance there is.  If the dr isn't worried, just be thankful that you will have a smaller baby to push out than the rest of us!
  • LO is measuring 10 days behind.  Doc's not worried and I think it was because she was moving the entire time.  The tech. said she was having a hard time getting go measurements because LO was moving too much.

  • Mine was moving non stop too so maybe that was the case. Ok, glad to know I'm not alone. Now all nervousness aside I am glad I don't have to push out a manmouth baby
  • We're not due for another u/s until early December but at the 8wk one (I was 8wks, 2 days) it was measuring a few days behind (7wks 5days I think?).  We'll see how things are at the next one!

  • At my first ultrasound mine was measuring at only 6 weeks. I had calculated 8 1/2 weeks. So they set my due date by the measurement. At my big ultrasound, he was measuring right on time. Then at my 22 week appointment, I was measuring at 23 weeks. And then yesterday at 24 weeks, I was measuring at 26 weeks! So I would say that it changes a lot, so don't worry. But for me I'm thinking late January instead of early February.

  • With my dd, she measured a weeks small, and I measured 2 weeks ahead (from 20 weeks on).  Had her 4 days late and she was 6lbs 5oz.  SUPER tiny and cute - but completely healthy!

This one I'm measuring 2 weeks ahead again, and I think he's measuring closer to right on.  :)  Good luck!

  • Mine has been measuring behind. He is only in th 17th percentile, so they are doing ultrasounds at each appt to check growth. They said he will be a smal baby.

  • I was measuring 3 days behind, then at my NT scan it moved to 4 days behind.  My doc isn't worried, so I'm not either.  He said he didn't even want to change my due date!
