Portable DVD player?

We are taking a flight next week and I was thinking about buying a DVD player to have with us, since we're flying without DH and I am a little worried.  Can anyone recommend their inexpensive DVD player? I wouldn't want to spend more than $100.

TIA!!! :)

Re: Portable DVD player?

  • We have this one and really like it, it's $30 more than your price range but it has an extra screen and works perfectly in the car too.  It's really nice.  I'm not sure if they have one with just 1 screen, that might be a little less expensive.

  • JaysGrl how do you mount yours to the headrest?

we have this one https://www.amazon.com/Philips-DCP851-8-5-Inch-Portable-Player/dp/B0013WLZY4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=miscellaneous&qid=1256212899&sr=8-1  which I would  be willing to sell you for $100 plus shipping.

  • I was very anti dvd player... but dh insisted when we flew with the kids for the first time this summer... he got a sony (this one) b/c he said it had the best battery life reviews. it flips around, has a remote, great picture.   we don't really use it much... we used it for maybe a half hour either way of our 3 1/2 hr flights...  I think we could've gotten away with a cheaper model since we barely use it... a colleague at work bought one for $99 and says it's fine.... but it is a really good dvd player. never skipped.  I drove home just me and the kids for my granny's funeral 2 months ago (22hr over 2 days each way) and played a movie a day... never skipped, battery held up great... I forgot to charge it for the way back.. .just plugged it in the car and ran it.
  • Thanks ladies!!!!  :)
